The Campaign to make NELA Bike Friendly

Hello Everyone,

Joe Linton (of CICLE) and I have been working these last few months to get the ball rolling on a campaign to make north east Los Angeles more bike friendly. Now, we're getting together for our first meeting this Tuesday, February 9th, at 7pm at Cafe De Leche on York and Avenue 50 (thanks again Matt!). Joe has made a great flier (and set up a facebook event) that I've attached.

There are a lot of great opportunities open to us here in the north east so we'll be working together to figure out what exactly we all want to pursue and how we'll go about it. Just to give you an idea, when we say "more bike-friendly" we're thinking more bike lanes, better dedicated bike lanes, bike boulevards, bike corrals, sharrows, and other projects to increase biking in NELA (like the Occidental College Bike Share program); the sky's the limit!

The meeting is open to anyone and everyone, so please pass the info on to everyone you know who'd be interested (and if you can, let people know through email lists, facebook, twitter, etc.). We're excited to here your ideas and to begin working together on what I know will be an incredible campaign.
