Beach City Dash X Mas Light ride (Griffith Park Holiday Light Festival)
12.17.09
Thursdays is a medium to fast pace ride out of Hermosa Beach with only short stops. Have set routes that vary from 25 - 65 miles, but we encourage anyone that has new routes in the area to post it up and lead this ride. We start at the Hermosa Beach Pier (In front of the Surfer Statue). We meet up at 7:30pm roll out at 7:45pm
** Parking is a bitch in Hermosa so if you can ride there do so. If not the best place to park is on Pier and Valley Drive
behind the Skate Park and by the Tennis courts. The parking lot is 2 hour parking until 9pm then no limit. So get there after 7pm and you are good for the whole night and it is free. Plus there are other places all around that area for free. Then just ride down Pier to meet us at the end of the strand
Only 2 rules. Have to have lights and helmet.
Okay this week 12/17 we are going to do a new route to look at the x mas lights around LA. I know of some blocks in El Segundo that are all done up in Holiday Cheer and Griffith Park has the Holiday Light Festival. Info below worse case we might have to walk thru the lights. Route is below (63 miles) but we can do a different route to Griffith Park if someone has any suggestions. And open to stop and eat along the way your guys choice.
December 4-17: Vehicle-Free Nights
These nights will be for pedestrians only, as no cars will be on the route. Walkers are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, dress warmly for the two-mile stroll and arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. in order to have enough time to walk the entire route before 10:00 p.m. closing.

Climbing not too bad and well be from the beach to the Valley to Hollywood back to the beach. Let's start earlier so we can finish up by 3am. Also going to be rolling through Southbay on mile 60 so if you need to bail out you can.
Here is the Route

BCD Saturdays
Rodney started a new thread for the Saturday ride because it was getting too confusing having both rides on one thread.
