BRUINS ride to comment on the BIKE PLAN
10.28.09
The newly formed UCLA Bicycle Coalition is hitting the streets to demand a plan that serves us.
Here's just one reason (among the 1000000000000 available) that we need to mobilize: To get to UCLA by bike, a rider has a choice of three death traps: Wilshire and Sunset that go east / west, and Beverly Glen to the north.
We need the city's biggest public university to be accessible by ALL. Whether you go to UCLA because you're a student, faculty, staff, or alum, or you go because you want to visit the Hammer museum or Pauley Pavillion or you want to see a speaker or just cruise around Westwood. Regardless, we need some bike lanes that reach this campus.
And if you've been reading anything about the LA Bike Plan, you know that it lacks bike lanes, period.
MEET: at 4:00 at the Bruin Bear

RIDE: 4:30
BRING: your requests to make the LA Bike Plan a whole lot better. The strength to demand more from your city.
Anybody and everybody is welcome.
