The Passage of a Few People Through a Rather Brief Moment in Time: The Harmony of the Spheres and the Beauty of Repetition (Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday!)
08.5.09
One or more persons during a certain period drop their usual motives for movement and action, their relations, their work and leisure activities, and let themselves be drawn by the attractions of the terrain and the encounters they find there.
It's a bike ride.
It's a WEDNESDAY night bike ride.
Started by user nathansnider and user theroyalacademy.
It meets every WEDNESDAY (yes, we are moving the ride to Wednesdays) at 8:30pm at California Donuts #21.
We ride at 9pm.
We'll endeavor to return before the last red line trains (around midnight).
On this bike ride, you might expect:
- full moon picnics
- inconvenient passageways
- "cover" versions of other people's rides, performed with amateurish enthusiasm
- amateurish enthusiasm
- disorientation

Once again this week: The Harmony of the Spheres!
As the lunar orb looms large in the sky, we ride in admiration of the perfect form. We are drawn by the gravitational fields of spherical objects in our vicinity, tracing out an irregular path as we attempt to orbit them all.
And then we go bowling!
Our trajectory will deliver us to Shatto 39 Lanes (right around the corner from the start) around 11pm, which will allow everyone time to experience the spheres in all their heavenly glory. Bring cash for the hands-on spherical action.
Waxing gibbous.
