Bringing Morningz Back: Black Dahlia/West Adams Mosey
05.23.09
Last week was a re-run of the IAAL•MAF's infamous "Ten Bridges" ride from about a year and a half ago. This Memorial Day weekend we'll be revisiting the one that started it all: The Black Dahlia Ride.
The IAAL•MAF's first public spinvitational took riders from the downtown location where Elizabeth Short was last seen alive, to the Leimert Park location where her mutilated remains were found.
In addition, on the way there and on the way back, we'll be doing some side-track moseying through the West Adams district, rich in historic, cultural and architectural significance.
Just like the last two Saturday morning rides, it will gather at Silversun Plaza (Sunset Boulevard and Parkman in Silver Lake) and roll out promptly at the Ultra Ultra After Hours (credit branding master Roadblock with that phrase) time of 7:30 a.m. That's right: Seven Fucking Thirty in the A to the M. Most of you will be sleeping in, but some of you will just be coming home from some all night slammitybam, so why not meet me and keep on riding.
Tentative course route (subject to more or less improvised moseying around West Adams): http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2834776
DATE: Saturday, May 23
TIME: 7:30 a.m. departure
DISTANCE: Roughly 21 miles
