Freedom Ride - Black kids on bikes

What: Freedom Ride - a once a month gather of BLACK kids on bikes.

When: May 24th, Meet at noon , Ride at 1

Where: Taste of Life Parking lot - 4728 Fountain Ave off Vermont

Tell me more: This is the fourth ride and it gets better every time. This is a medium paced ride. We go about 15 miles give or take with a few stops to rest and wait for peeps to catch up. All levels are welcome and no one will be left behind.

Why bike ride for black people? Can other races come? : With hesitation, I am posting again on the LA fixed Website about this ride. I say with hesitation because There was soooo much drama last time. But despite the haters, a lot of kids find this ride exciting and important and some of those kids came from this site\'s community sooo here we go again. This ride is NOT ment to exclude, segregate or hate on others. It is meant to INCLUDE black kids creating a comfortable environment for new riders and chance to get to know the other black kids who have similar interests outside of the black mainstream.

To explain it is complex but as a great musician once said when asked to explain jazz, \"If I have to explain it, you probably wont get it anyway\" that seems to sum it up here too. But I encourage your dialogue.

Are other races allowed to come? : This ride is designed to build bonds within, and strengthen the black community and spirit. No one is going to tell you to leave if you show up ready to ride, but you have to ask yourself how is your presence helping? Maybe you know something we don\'t. If so cool.
