Bike Journey For The Cause

START TIME: 5PM

Every time we ride we are making a statement, but April 14th is a special day. Over 1,000 events in 50 states are planned to bring attention to GLOBAL WARMING and send a message to congress. The message to congress: â€œCut CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050.â€ Each event will be different, but all will be photographed with the participants and a banner displaying the message. These photographs will become a collage that will reach congress and the rest of the world. Go to www.stepitup2007.org to learn more about the bigger picture.

Our Event:

We will pose for the photo and begin our ride at Union Station, downtown. Each biker will express his personal message on global warming either on his person, or on his bike somehow (signs, polar bear costumes..etc.) We will set off on Cesar Chavez which turns into Sunset and continue to ride through Echo Park and Silverlake (most of this section has bike lanes and is a very pretty ride). We will continue on Sunset until it turns into Hollywood, ride down Hollywood Blvd. and end our journey on the corner of Argyle and Hollywood at the entrance to the metro (here there is a spacious plaza). As the sun sets, bust out candles and food from backpacks and we will have a candle light vigil/potluck. A Capoeira group has been invited to play to show their support so it should be good times.
