Live sea urchin ride, 45 miles Hollywood>Redondo>hollywood

yes , the legendary live sea urchin ride is back this saturday april 18th. you too can join in the riding, the endurance drinking session, the obscene amount of seafood (some still moving), the 420 breaks, all this can be yours

ride meets at 10 AM at melrose/ heliotrope ( leave at 10:30). we ride down to the ballona creek path, then along the path all the way to the redondo beach pier. about 22 miles ONE WAY, then we stop at Quality seafood that has one of the best selections of fresh seafood on the entire west coast.

If you like seafood, this is your ride (they have a modest selection of vegan/veggie food as well). The highlight is eating the still moving live sea urchin. If you have ever had uni at a sushi bar, you will never eat it again after eating it fresh. rookies MUST eat the urchin to pass the initiation( you get a pass if you are vegetarian)

If you are offended by the notion of this,,or a militant vegan, this is NOT the ride for you...

we wrap up by hitting NAJAS bar,( 50 yards away) which definately has the best selection of beer in Los Angeles. then ride back with the sun in your face and a happy belly. the pace is medium-up, not slow, please bring a bike and the gear (tubes, sweater,sunblock, etc) that you can ride 45 miles on. ...

westsiders can get in on the action by meeting us on the ballona creek bridge at about noon. we usually get back around 6pm or so.
