Cecilia has taught art and creative education in different schools in El Salvador, including The House of Culture (La Casa de la Cultura), as well as other non governmental centers.
From 2000-2003 she was a member of the Fine Artists Association of El Salvador (ADAPES). She also participated in collective exhibitions both nationally and internationally.
Cecilia currently lives in Los Angeles where she has participated in many different local exhibitions. She is a board member of the Center for Salvadoran Cultural Development, and is part of its Fine Art collective. She is also a member of the El Salvador arts group GAS (Salvadoran Artist Group).
“As all artists I had come through many different stages to integrate my art. I work in a very figurative style with acrylic on canvas as my main medium, though I also work with many other materials. My palette surges with primary colors.
In my art I link the figures to different elements, but the human figure is the dominant element of my work, like actors in a theater. The colors in my work are a reflection of my sentiments and how I live through my characters.
The richness of humanity is infinite and the secret is in learning how to see it.”
