WEST LA QUICKIE - Zen Ride
03.20.09
This is a quasi-hustle ride. 20-30 miles. Two stops. Hills. Sprinting. Sweating. There may be drops. There may be crying (I am a twelve-year-old girl at heart). There will, for sure, be a fantastic ride.
"...beyond their practical function, all gestures have a meaning that exceeds the intention of those who make them. When people in club-cut jerseys interval themselves on buttery-smooth tarmac, it is joy itself that shows in the gesture, notwithstanding any sadness the cyclists may actually feel."
-Kundera
We will slow the pace of life and find a kind of joy in experiencing and embracing one single thing: cycling very very quickly.

note that this will be one big freaking hill
(read: BRAKES BRAKES BRAKES)

This is a ride where we will “push down” on the pedals. It will be long, excruciating, and wonderful. It will be, in short, a fine climb with a fine view followed by a nice drop back into the city.
