Barackcycke! is a monthly group bicycle ride (on the last Saturday of each month) meant to promote, get out the word and get out the vote for Obama/Biden '08! In addition, we're also supporting part of the campaign's vision for change, by promoting alternate modes of transportation, a lesser dependence on foreign oil, cleaner and renewable forms of energy, more livable cities and creating a sense of community!

On August 23, Sen. Barack Obama introduced Sen. Joe Biden to be his running mate. On August 28, he accepts the Democratic party nomination as their candidate for president. Celebrate by joining us on the morning of Saturday, August 30 as we ride around Los Angeles, making ourselves visible on the streets as we spin our chains, riding for change!

For this bike tour, we will ride on a 17-mile course from Hollywood to th Westside and back (via the Fairfax District, Beverly Hills, Westwood Village, West Los Angeles, Century City and West Hollywood). We will meet at Hollywood and Highland (next to the sidewalk Obama t-shirt tables) and start riding at 10:30 a.m.

We'll also make some stops for food, snacks or restroom breaks.

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bike, that is!) and a helmet.

This ride will be a visibility event. WEAR YOUR OBAMA GEAR! If you don't have any, you can buy a t-shirt at the Obama table on the sidewalk at Hollywood/Highland.

If you can, decorate your bikes with Obama signs, flags, etc. We wanna create a scene!

Everyone is welcome! This is the most diverse city in America! Let's unite and ride together!
