The Southbay Bicycle Music Festival II: The Pajama Jam!

The Bicycle Music Festival II: The Pajama Jam!



WHEN: Sat, September 20th, 2008

Meets at 5:15PM/We ride at 5:30PM



WHERE: Meets in front of the Lighthouse Cafe at Hermosa Pier (30 Pier Avenue, Hermosa Beach)

The ride ends at Valley Park in Hermosa Beach (corner of Gould Ave/Valley Drive)-approx.

1 mile from the start.



The theme ride for this event is: Pajama JAM. We will be riding & listening to the tunes of our FRIENDS who will be performing and all of us singinging along in our pajamas. So put on those flannel sets, teddy bears and anything playful. Bring the pillows and the sleeping bags. As always dressing to the occasion is encouraged but not required. Come as you are if you wish.



WHAT TO BRING:



*Food...if you want to eat, you need to bring it. (Sharing what you bring is always welcome, but please don't expect others to provide you alone with food)

*A canned food item/art supply/clothing item to donate to A Window Between Worlds (www.awbw.org)

*$5 suggested donation, which after expenses goes to 'A Window Between Worlds' to sponsor an abused southbay woman seeking to take part in the A Window Between Worlds art healing program. If you can't afford to donate you are still welcome to attend.

*As well as the usual - you bike in good working order, a spare tube, patch kit and pump in case of a flat. It will be getting dark about half way through the ride, so please bring a headlight.



WHAT WILL HAPPEN: We will go off on a 9 - 10 mile slow to moderate paced cruiser ride through the southbay which will end at Valley Park in Hermosa Beach (corner of Valley Dr/Gould Ave.) Once at the park we will barbecue and listen to performances from:



The 3 Heads (www.the3heads.com) Acoustic rock legends from Eureka,CA -these guys rock!

Kris Angelis (www.krisangelis.com) A slight country sound from this singer/songwriter. She's awesome!

Jennifer Vazquez (www.jennifervazquez.com) Voted one of the best unsigned LA acts of 2005, the "Bronx Babe" comes to entertain us!



These are all acoustic acts. This will be another intimate night of an cruiser ride followed by a barbecue and music performances. This event will again support 'A Window Between Worlds' (www.awbw.org), a group which helps abused women and their kids transistion to more normal lives.



We will also likely play a few games, sing, dance, and do a little karaoke as well. This will be awesome!
