PEACE in the NorthEast Community March and Resource Fair

Hola Todos - I realize that this is a march and not just a bike ride, but we would love for my fellow bike riders to be a part of this Community March for PEACE in the NorthEast. For those of you who have enjoyed the Spoke(n) Art Ride over the years (It's hard to believe that it's been years now!), I think it is especially important that you help us to make a statement about wanting peace in the streets of NorthEast LA. The kids here need positive adult examples in their lives and what is more positive than someone who rides a bike and can show them how to take care of it, respect the roads and others on them all while having fun!!! It's only a short, easy 3 miles so bring family and friends. Even invite those you know who won't ride but would walk. Shaloha, RuthAnne

Lead by the Churches of NorthEast LA, the NorthEast LA community will meet to march against violence in the streets. The march is down York Blvd to Eagle Rock Blvd and then down Eagle Rock Blvd to the Resource Fair. Snacks will be served at both the staging area and the Resource Fair. Bottled water will also be available for marchers. Along with the Resource Fair there will be live and DJ music and a Mini Car Show.



Community groups, families and local organizations and businesses and others are encouraged to join the march and bring organizational / identificational banners or signs. March signs will also be provided. This march and resource fair is being held in response to the violence in the streets of NorthEast LA, the crimes against the person, such as shootings / drive-bys / robberies / assaults / rapes / batteries. Summer is the time when these crimes escalate and so we are taking to the streets to march and declare:



Peace in the NorthEast: Stop the Violence.
