Spoke (n) Art Bike Ride - The Art of Burning Man and the future of Bike Culture
07.12.08
The Spoke(n) Art bicycle ride is a free, once-a-month, bicycle tour of art galleries in North East Los Angeles. The ride takes place on the second Saturday of each month - a special night in North East Los Angeles. Area art galleries open their doors late into the night as part of NELA art's "Gallery Night".
The Art Show at the Bike Oven:
This month’s Art Show at the Bike Oven is "The Art of Burning Man and the future of Bike Culture." It will feature photographs and art created for the playa by members of the Midnight Ridazz Burningman Camp. Art and snacks will be for sale to help raise money for construction costs for the Midnight Ridazz Burningman Camp. In addition raffle tickets will be on sale for the opportunity to win a tallbike that was built by the Midnight Ridazz Burningman Camp. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at 7 pm at the Bike Oven.
The Ride:
The Spoke(n) Art Ride will begin (as it usually does), at the flagpole on the corner of Figueroa and York Blvd. in Highland Park. We will leave at 6:30 p.m. for a mellow ride to about 7 or 8 different galleries open for NELA Art's Second Saturday. No cover charges, no waivers, just bring a functioning bike (and some blinky lights).
The ride will end at the Bike Oven. - where the art opening "The Art of Burning Man and the future of Bike Culture" will already be in full swing. If you want to find out where we are during the evening, give us a call at 310-902-5439.
