LACM , Meet 6:30pm, Ride 7:30pm sharp!

6:30pm, we ride at 7:30pm sharp!

One of the largest and most vibrant bicycle scenes in the country is here...in Los Angeles. Come celebrate the LA Bike Culture with Los Angeles Critical Mass, the first ride of the summer.

LA Critical Mass rides through the city of Los Angeles, exerting our right as bicycles to the road...but we also have fun. We will make a "refreshment" stop every four or five miles. Remember to wave at the honking cars and the cheering pedestrians. Engage in polite conversation with drivers. Tell them to join us, they can have fun too.

This is a slow, easy-paced ride. Periodically some of the riders will yell up ahead to "slow down". The asphalt of Los Angeles can be mean to a bicyclist, we endeavor to change that. Please help us with your cooperation and assistance.

Those who are veterans of the LACM ride will aid those who are new to the ride. We are a bicycle community that helps each other.

Though LAPD has been mostly tolerant of our rides, we don't want to provoke them. Since this is a night ride, you might want to get a rear red blinking light and a front white blinking light. If they (LAPD) tell us to stop at the red lights, we should stop. When they drive off, we can resort back to our old LA Critical Mass ways.

Bring your bells, whistles, horns and noise makers or just shout at the top of your lungs.

USC riders meet at Tommy Trojan 6:00pm, Ride to LACM at 6:30pm.

UCLA riders meet at the Bruin Bear 5:30pm, ride to LACM at 6:00pm

Westside/Culver City/Mar Vista/Palms riders meet at Crank Mob park 6:00pm, ride to LACM at 6:30pm

Eastside, Valley and beyond, please use the Metro Gold Line, Blue Line and Red Line to get to the Wilshire and Western Metro station. Yes, you can take your bike on all Metro trains. There is no extra fee either.

Some visiting riders from Toronto will be joining the LACM ride. If you happen to meet them, please extend a warm welcome.
