Urban Double - 200 miles around the border of LA County

This is an uber challenging ride, with slightly more than 200 miles and at least 5000 feet in elevation. This will be the most hard earned spoke card ever!

As far as I know, this route has never been attempted before. Slightly less than half the mileage will be urban terrain with stop lights and half in more scenic and bike friendly terrain. If you have only done one century, do not do this ride. There are rumors of a sweep van but this may not happen. Bring at least two tubes, cash for food, tire, layers, lights, cell phone, and sunblock. Spandex is recommended, helmet is required. Plan to ride this in 13 to 20 hours depending on your pace and experience.

Route will start at the bike district (Melrose and Heliotrope) head east towards Elmonte, then up to Sylmar, across the SF valley, Kanan over Malibu, PCH and bike path around Palos Verdes, to Long Beach on bike lanes, back North via the San Gabriel river trail, and then the home stretch to Scoops on Melrose.

Meet at Scoops Saturday morning at 8:00am, ride out at 8:30am sharp!
