Last year we argued that cyclists should be allowed to join the motorists in the Festival of Lights.
This year we have the opportunity to join the Sierra Club, the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council, the Los Feliz Improvement Association, the Oaks Homeowners Association, the Atwater Village Neighborhood Council and other community groups in fighting for a car-free Festival of Lights.
"The DWP has the resources to make the City aware of the earth-friendly and pleasurable alternatives to driving the festival. Strolling, bicycling or trotting the mile-long route is much more enjoyable than idling from 30 minutes to two hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic."
