Bike Build Day 3!

Calling all future Los Angelopes! We want to help you build the freak bike of your dreams! Here is the date for the next bike-build day + barbecue! Spend Father's Day at the Bikerowave with pops for a once-in-about-a-month experience he will never forget!

What to bring:


  • an idea of what you want to do

  • for a tall-bike, at least two bike frames and two forks. (We recommend that one of the bikes you bring is a complete working bike, as well as an extra chain.)

  • the more parts/scraps/tubing you bring, the easier it will be

  • work clothes (welder has a tendency to put small holes in clothing) We recommend you wear cotton or leather clothing, close toed shoes and bring a pair of thick work gloves. Synthetic fibers will melt and burn.

  • tools, if you have them (esp. welders, angle grinders)

  • creativity

  • patience

  • donation moneizz for the Bikerowave

  • items to be grilled!






    Due to the overwhelming response int he past, there is a potential for a large number of people to attend and we have a very limited amount of tools. If this is the case, we might opt for group tutorials. Also, expect not to finish your freak bike project. It will most likely take multiple sessions to complete. Brassknuckle has offered up his house as a place to finish your freak bikes. Talk to him to schedule a time after the bike build to complete your project.
    Also, If you would like to get some extra steel tubing for supports and steer tube extensions, we recommend 4130 chromoly steel. Lengths of this can be purchased at numerous metal supply shops. One we recommend is Industrial Metal Supply in the San Fernando Valley.

    At Industrial Metal Supply, 16 guage (.065" Wall Thickness) x 1" O.D. 4130 Chromoly Steel Tube runs about $3.87 per foot. It comes in random 17'-24' lengths and for them to cut it to a shorter more manageable length it is $8 for the first cut and $1 for each additional cut.
