LA marathon

Meet time 5:50 AM, start racing at 6AM

This ride is simply a way to blast through the closed off streets of the LA marathon route early in the morning without the hassle of having to pay and stand in line like a schmuck. We meet at the mile 3 mark which is the southwest corner of Figueroa and Adams at 5:50 AM (thats early in the morning kids) wait til the lead pack (and police escort) goes through at 6 Am , then dive in behind them.

This race runs on time so dont be late or you will get caught up in all the weekend warriors on their beach cruisers going 7 MPH.

This is pretty much a time trial, everyone is on their own for repairs , flats, etc. and riders WILL be left behind. It is probably the greatest day of cycling in LA, i have done it 10 times and wouldnt miss it. If you havent done it, you wont regret getting up that early. My personal highlight of last year was racing through skid row at 25 mph with police on full road racing bikes in front of and behind me (best police escort ever).

Breakfast at a soul food restaurant in Leimert park afterwards. see you on the road.........
