If you leave a bike unlocked on an Amsterdam street, it is said, it will be gone within an hour. And if you leave it locked on an Amsterdam street? Apparently, after a few days or weeks somebody will come and destroy it in some imaginative way. I don't know why people in the Netherlands are so aggressive toward other people's unattended bicycles. They just are, for some reason.
