Honoring Victims/Survivors

Behind every drunk driving statistic is a person whose life was full of family and friends, love and life, joy and laughter. Collectively, they are mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Their lives touched so many and they will never be forgotten. MADD’s Online Victim/Survivor Tribute honors and remembers those killed or injured in a drunk driving crash.

These online tribute pages can serve as a gathering place to cherish memories, share stories and display photos of loved ones killed or injured in drunk driving crashes. They can also serve to increase awareness of the tragic consequence of drunk driving and raise funds for MADD’s lifesaving work.

When creating your online tribute page, you will also create your own Tribute Fund which provides a vehicle for you, your family and friends to donate and raise money for MADD’s mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

Why a Tribute

It is an easy way to honor or remember someone dear to you and at the same time contributes to MADD’s work. In 2007 alone, MADD provided its Victim Services and support free of charge to 50,000 victims/survivors.
It allows you to tell your story about the honoree and why you are supporting MADD.
It allows you to raise awareness about the importance of eliminating drunk driving.
Clicking the Find a Tribute link displays a search page that you can use to locate the Vigil Web Page of someone you know and care about.

Clicking the Create a Tribute link displays the set of pages you can use to create your Tribute Web Page to honor a persons dear to you (called the tribute' Honoree) as you assist us in raising much-needed funds. After naming your tribute and providing basic information about it, you, as the tribute champion, can:

Tell your story about the tribute Honoree and why you are championing MADD's cause.
Upload a digital photo of the person to be featured on the Tribute Web Page.
Provide the street and email address of the tribute Honoree, or a designated Next of Kin contact, that can be notified when gifts are made to the fund.
Review and agree to a waiver that states you have the permission of the Honoree, or the Honoree's family, to create the Tribute Web Page.
Provide a personal donation as the Initial Gift to the fund.
After creating the tribute, you can access the Champion Center to personalize your Tribute Web Page, send email to your family and friends to ask them to visit your tribute, and more.

Note: If you have previously registered with our site, you should log in now to use existing information from your profile. If you have not registered, you will be asked to enter your street and email address and to create a User Name/Password login during the fund creation process.
