Depends on what you're into- mega bike-friendly town, awesome little farmer's market, beautiful beach with natural sand, fresh smelling redwood forests, cheap organic food, hippy lifestyle, wildest Halloween/New Years/St. Patrick's around, cozy quirky town... the school's ok. ;) It depends on what you're going there for. It has the best marine biology program in the nation. Art program sucks.

it's nice over there. my boy went to rside for undergrad now taking classes at ucsc and loves it there. says the vibe reminds him of berkeley (where i went) with just a little bit less intellect. i think it would be cool to go there.

UCSC is probably one of the greatest schools/campuses i've ever seen. ideal for environmental, science, and marine bio majors though.
