Circle of Death and traffic for traffic's sake is so 20th century.
I don't think it helps anything or anybody other than to fuel a temporary mob mentality ego/powertrip.
I find it very selfish, inconsiderate, and really not advancing our cause at all.
It is my sense that this type of shit only exacerbates tension with cars and cops for people on bike rides and people on bikes in general.
I'm am only talking about 1 thing here.

not for safety or convenience, , not to get anywhere, not asking people to hang on for a second, while we pass. Just basically saying fuck you.
If we had an agitator in our midst from COINTEL or HSA or FBI the first thing they would try to do is a circle of death.

OK i'm gonna drink my coffee now and com back in 20 mins and be like "damn I'm grumpy in the morning".

The initial idea of the circle of death was to keep the group together, actually. I think. Like, everyone would hold up traffic and make a scene while the stragglers caught up to the group, and once everyone had joined the circle, the group would continue on.
