Normally yes, 3rd Friday.
I couldn't swing it this month.
Next month we'll get more regular....

If price is not an issue, let's mix things up and use honey, bananas, and/or raisins in addition to jelly.

i would like to bring some cupcakes. hope no one brings a pillow and starts a pillow fight!

The route took about 1.5 hours with only two people riding. Depending on the number of riders, expect this ride to be at least two hours.
There's nice scenery with minimal traffic. There are also a few rolling hills, but it's nothing the Ridazz can't handle on fixies.
How does a stop at Astro Burger sound?

oh so excited. I am so there ! IM down for making some P & B sandwiches.

Uh oh, there's hills on this route? Can I handle it on my heavy-ass cruiser?
I am so sad the Strip Ride got moved to October 6th... I'm out of town! Waah! And what's up with the Strip Ride pics in the gallery? When was that? I never saw the posting.
I guess I'll have to wear the lingerie to Pajama Party, instead. Yay!

I'm going to be leaving Echo Park around 8 PM, then stopping at the Nature Mart on Hillhurst and Ambrose to get wired on Yerba Mate tea before the ride.
If anyone wants to meet up before heading over to Barnsdall Park let me know.

Count me in for some PBJ sandwiches as well. My tandem partner will be out of town, but I'm still going to ride that thing!!

Sir Tuppins, I'm in Echo Park too, I'm down to meet up beforehand. Hit me on myspace: DuckLionDog. "It's so much friendlier with two."

I know,
I am going to hit up a thrift store to see if I can find some old man pajamas!

So looks like there are going to be a couple of different rides going on Friday. I don't think we should change the meeting place and time for Pajama Party, but I am amending the route so that we can stop by and pay our respects so to speak.

sounds great theif. maybe we can even coordinate to snowball with the other ride at the fountain.......? still heading to a park looks like... pack and extra pb n j for our lost brothers and sisters?
Roadblock09.20.06 - 5:14 pm

Dude... PB&J's are the best idea ever! I will come packin! I will fold them into my pillow so nothing harms thoes sweet sandwiches... But then again, smushed PB&J's are not to bad either... I hope my milk will stay cold. Nothing like dippin them in a nice tall glass of Mooooo Juice...
What other ride is happening on the 22nd?

it'd be cool if everyone brought lighters and we'd light them as we took off for the ride in rememberance of a fallen trooper.
just an idea.

Wouldn't they blow out as we started to ride off?? Great idea, but would it work??
PrettySweet09.21.06 - 1:51 pm

Our best option might be to postpone the pajama party ride theme to maybe the 6th of october...... Theif had a crash and a rider died this week.... We can ride out on friday and clique up with the ones who will be riding in memorial of ilia.... Just a thought. Sounds like a great idea to bring candles and lighters..
Roadblock09.21.06 - 2:23 pm
reply
I don't think we will need to postpone the ride.
I have emailed the route and left the ride in the hands of my trusty group of awesome helpers.
The ride will be making a stop at Fairfax High at 11pm to meet up with the other rides and then will head to the Fountain.
I will change my original posting shortly, must nap now.
I'll also post this information on the other forum thread.

So . . . are we still doing the pajama theme tonight? I'm kinda on the fence, certainly don't want be "inappropriate" given the circumstances. Any thoughts?

Ending at the fountain was super intense. I never knew Ilia, but am finding my self thinking about him often. Thanks to whomever organized the route change to the fountain. I was happy to ride in my PJs and am glad I was able to participate in Ilia's memorial. My thoughts and condolenses are with him, his family, and those who knew him.
