DTLA Public Safety STOLEN BIKE
Thread started by richtotheie at 01.6.09 - 10:00 pm

Looking for a place to lock my bike, i noticed the 2 Public Safety bikes nestled side by side near the front door of YOSHINOYA, (the food of athletes). I had felt like the armed guards probably thought i was thinking of stealing their 2 wheeled lovers, but alas... I would never do that! By the time i got to the counter, (because as i said, YOSHINOYA is the food of athletes), a guy banged on the side window and swung his fists in small circles in front of him and pointed to the front door. This was a bad game of charades, but we got the picture. SOMEONE STOLE THEIR BIKE!!! One of them, that is. They rushed out (and i followed quickly to mount my single speed 29"er) chasing a small flashing light. The officer took off and by the time i could unluck my bike, get those PIMP gloves on and mount, he was only a half block away. I passed him at the next street and he asks me "Did you see where he went?".......... DOT DOT DOT DOT. CALM?

This is effing ridiculous. How could i catch up with someone who's tool is a bike? These guys and girls are out of shape. Any one of us regular riding Ridazz could out pedal these guys no problem. It kind of makes me want to call their headquarters and suggest they go through a training course.... Called "Catch us".

In the end, (30 minutes later), no bike was recovered and i was pleasantly full from my large beef and chicken bowl with no veggies. They really suck.

Damn, that sucks. Alfredo, July, and I were talking to one of them after my ride, and it's true- they do need some riding training. Not only do they have to wear a lot of shit, but they also have a pretty chill time, riding wise, so a training course would be a good idea. That sucks, but at least their company provides them.

Actually, I remember a couple of them on a ride before. I don't know which street, but I remember them telling everyone to stay on the right. Wait... isn't there a thread about this?

those guys in north hollywood who are supposed to patrol the arts district and nothing but the arts district? they dont ride with us anymore because they kept leaving their jurisdictions trying to patrol and police something that they had no business doing. those idiots rode against traffic and stopped in the middle of the pack more than the drunkest underage newjack on crank mob.

What exactly are they allowed / supposed to do? do they keep in contact with police on their walkie talkies?

That's what I'm led to believe.

At the very most, the N.Hollywood Safety Advisors are nothing more than contracted security officers.

Something bad goes down, make a citizens-arrest if necessary then call in LE.
