Bad day = Upon returning from a ride, I swung by Papa Cristos (Pico & Normandie) to grab a greek sandwich to go. Long story short, I wasn't carrying a lock on the ride, so I stashed my bicycle on the patio behind some tables, near some patrons, went inside for no more than 3 minutes to order, and you know how this story ends. Stolen bicycle. I'm embarrassed to admit it. Most of you know me and know how much I harp on locking properly, and I carry that big ol' cable every week so I can lock wheels while we Gorge. I'm a freakin bike lock Nazi. And the one time I slip, bam, jacked.
Pake frame (who cares), Sugino 75s: silver arms, old logo, black chainring, Nitto RB-21 bullhorns wrapped in black with silver end caps, Brooks saddle that I have like 10,000 miles on *sad*.
The worst part is the wheels. These babies were my dream wheels: low flange Phils laced to Ambrosio Excellence box clincher rims.

I'm realistic, I know my bicycle is probably history. I'm going to do what I can, of course. But I'm mostly posting just as a reminder that we do live in a sketchy neighborhood, so everyone please be diligent and lock, even if you think you have a secure little spot and are going to be gone for a minute. Wheels too :) Love you all.

hey if it helps, my buddy has a bunch of parts he gets from his shop just sitting in his room.
not really frames but njs drop bars, cranks, tires (no wheels), and i think some pedals.
he sells them for pretty cheap. like s works tires for 30 bucks.

ONLY City Knobgobblin would put a self deprecating line about his PAKE, but I can feel the sting of his loss from here. At least the victim has his shit together with a good job, he'll be back badder than ever.
