depends on what program you have, but one way is to just open up word, insert the photo, select the format so the text can go over it, and type away!

guess it's too late now, but for future reference. when working with just the basic programs, as you are (and you can do all you need to with them for the most part):
1. open word
2. insert picture
3. right click and go to text wrap - here you'll want to click the picture of the dog behing the lines, so the text shows up in front.

Oh well this was a fun adventure
i have mad props to everyone that has ever made spoke cards...i have never made more that 20 beore so this has really been fun for me :)
