Lost my Exilim ex-z1050 under the 405 bridge near Pico
Thread started by bentstrider at 09.21.08 - 11:19 am

Despite all the action last night, I just had to have a mirror go missing, and then my camera disappear last night.
Don't know much about the mirror after I lent franz my helmet, but before LAPD dispersed us from the 405 OverCrossing, my camera literally vanished from my neck lanyard.

Anywho, I don't know if I got swiped, or if it fell off the lanyard,then some drunk person picked it up and just forgot to return it.
Most likely, little-to-nothing may, or may not happen if I post my occurrence here, but it's better than acting as if nothing happened.

In the meantime, here's a picture of what I once had and hope to get back.
I'm also going to do some shopping today and see what's on tap.
If I get my camera back before thirty days, I'll simply return whatever I bought today.

Keep those eyes peeled campers!!!

Eh, still no dice.
And to think I took all those pictures last night.

If only there was a way to copy images from my brain to a hard-drive.

I'm beginning to think that a weak, lanyard ring may have been responsible for my camera disappearing into the night.

The only way I'll be able to keep this from happening again is by getting some high-quality, tether of some sort.

The first thing I had the camera tied to was this old-ass, MP3 player cord that involved a loop-through-the-hole scheme.

But, maybe this time I'll just get an old school, biker wallet with chain.

That way, no one will be able to snatch it and I could also use the chain as a whip in the case some discipline must be applied.

Well, got a new, Exilim EX-S10A before heading out to Bikeronauts last night.
However, no charge for the battery at that point, so I need to spanked for no pictures.

I'm keeping this one under, Draconian, lock and key!!!!

here's something I learned in kindergarten, and again at Burning Man:
put your name and contact information on the stuff you want returned

I doubt someone snatched your camera from your neck.

@spiraldevon

@mook

It's still a mystery.

Don't know if it was a faulty hook, or something else in regards to tethering.

Make a serious lanyard this time: 1100 lbs of force to break 5mm, 350lbs to 3mm. Just don't put anything that strong around your neck!

I've got some left over from burning man, but campmor is full of sexy do-dads that you didn't realize that you needed.

I usually have it holstered, but when I'm taking "in-ride" shots, I don't want to hit a bump and have the camera go flying out of my hand.

It hasn't happened yet, but if it ever does, SHOOT ME.

Sticking to the subject, how do I engrave my name onto my camera?

Do I take a knife and melt it into the plastic, or is there a less, drastic approach to this matter?
