Looking for Bike Junkyard

Does anybody know of a bike junkyard or anywhere I could go looking for old used junked bicycle parts. In my hometown up north we had one, dunno if this type of thing exists here.

Actually better than a junkyard is places like Bikeoven and Bicycle Kitchen. They are given lots of bikes and if they can't be fixed they part them out and they have all the parts neatly separated and organized and they sell them for very cheap.

What are you looking for exactly?
Between the Fixie Craze, which has sucked up most of the old road bikes and road bike parts (except shifters and derailleurs, obviously). and Burning Man, which sucked up all the old rideable beach cruisers and MTBs, the pickings have been a little slim in terms of looking for lots of cool old/used stuff for cheap.
There's always the internet and the bike kitchen / bike oven / bikerowave, but if you're looking for something specific post up here.
If you do find the secret lost land of old and cheap bike parts, please let us know, as that would be awesome.

I am pretty much making my winter project building my first road bike. When I lived up north i worked on a few bikes for friends, just switch parts, rebuild, paint, etc. This will be my first time ever building from the ground up. l I want to start cheap, so first i need a frame and a free wheel crank, looking to spend less than 150.

I'd go with a complete used road bike and then swap out the parts you want to improve as your budget allows. If you try to build a bike frome the frame-up for $150, you may end up getting nickel and dimed way over budget before you know it.
Or just take a little more time and get a really nice frame and do a frame up build on a higher budget as your spare cash allows.

No, I am looking to spend 150 for the frame and crank... as for the nickel and dime deal... the best way to get the rest of my parts would be how?

Check out this site... they got tons of bikes and other junk. You can buy bikes in singles or by the lot... The site basically works like ebay... its a police auction. !!Just make sure the shit your getting is in LA!!... so u can pick it up.
