Random thought crossed my mind.

So, as you all probably know, I'm still interested in going into law-enforcement in some capacity.
Whether it's corrections, patrol, or some type of interdiction-related duty, I'm all game.

Anywho, when I was cycling through Nogales, AZ on Friday night, I noticed some billboards for Phoenix PD, Santa Cruz Co.(AZ) Sheriff's Dept, among others.

I'm still kind of butthurt over going through all the processes of California Department of Corrections and losing out due to the decision of some Ivy-League Pshrink!!!

But, the reason I was considering Arizona was from word-of-mouth regarding relaxed policies relating to psych-checks.

So, question is, would it be a good idea to revive my hope/interest in this career-sector by seeking gold over here?

Or, should I just reevaluate?

Oh, and the far-reaching areas of Arizona have some gnarly roads/trails that are pedal-pushing worthy!!!

It depends on what your issues are. If you're dealing with heavy stuff, law enforcement may not be right for you. If it's some minor deal that got overblown by some therapist who went for a PHD instead of GETTING THEREAPY FOR HIMSELF/HERSELF (happens a lot), maybe you just need to keep trying.

The Army's looking hard for folks, and if you selected MP as your MOS and got it guaranteed in writing, you could be back in SoCal in 4 years or so with money for college and a kick-ass resume for law enforcement.

Good Luck!

Thought about that, but the Army would've been a better choice if I were just out of high school.
I'm going to stick with the law enforcement option for now and keep plugging away at it.
I've got no felonies or any major tickets to worry about right now, so that's not an issue.

As far as completely going for a different career path, I don't know.
Law enforcement's something I've had on my mind since I was 7, but over the years, some people think I've been better suited to getting a higher-education and becoming a "paper-pusher".

My stepdad said I should give engineering a shot, but if this career-pursuit falls flat due to negative reviews from a shrink, it'll either be continue on as a trucker, or pursue a B/S in Nursing and then see about an officer's commission in either the USAF or US Army Nurse Corps.
Not law-enforcement, but military-nursing ensures getting my hands dirty and not stuck behind a desk.
