I see some 700c wheels on sale but some say clincher then the other say tubular, so just curious, what is the difference...

Buy clincher, they use regular tires and tubes... tubular you have to buy special tires that glue on to special rims, its a pain in the ass unless you are a sponsored racer who has someone do it for you... you must glue a new tire or patch it when you get a flat, time consuming and not many people know how to help you, although tubulars do have less rolling resistance and can run hi psi they really are for the track or racing only

TUBULARS ARE WAYYYYYYYYY BETTER THAN CLINCHERS!

SOOO EASY O FIX A FLAT!!!!

CLINCHERS ARE FOR CHUMPS WHO RUN UNDER 135PSI.

Trust me I have some Tubulars on my Zipp wheels and they are way better.

JUST DON'T GET FLATS!

Get clinchers. You can't beat the ride on tubulars but clinchers are more convenient. Price of the tires is also a consideration, tubular tires are almost twice as much as comparable clincher tires.

Here is an example: I have Zipp 404 tubular and Zipp 404 clinchers. Racing tubulars are about $100 a piece, Tufo Extreme tape $12 x 2 = $224. Racing clincher tires are about $ 55 a piece, tubes are about $7 = $124. Even cheap tubular tires are $40 each.

Another thing is tubulars need to be pump often, mine loses enough pressure in 2 days. Clinchers will hold pressure for a few weeks.

While you can change tubular flats almost as fast a you can a tube, you'll have to carry extra tires. More people run clichers, you can always borrow a tube from someone else.

My advice tubular for racing, clinchers for everyday. Another option is tubeless tires but the tires are expensive but you get the best of both worlds. I might even have a set of Mavic R-SYS for sale, you can run clinchers or tubeless tires.

General rule of thumb.

If you don't know what tubulars are, you probably do not need them.

Since the last descent of Everest Challenge 2007.
I haven't filled them up since then.
They only have about 280miles on them.

Latex tubes inside your tubulars will make you loose 30-50 psi sometimes overnight. These tubes are more porous than rubber tubes.

Yes latex is porous.

No you can't get rubber condoms!!
