Thread Box:
FCC neutering Satellite radio?
Thread started by bentstrider at 07.25.08 - 10:24 pm

No official news story to post, but after visiting a couple of forums related to my problem, I heard that the FCC required all new satellite receivers to have less powerful, FM-modulators.

This means that whenever I drive through an urban area with too many FM channels, I get bleed through like you can't believe!!

Here I am, trying to listen to my Sirius Chill 35, or 51 Heart and Soul, and all of a sudden, some teeny-bopper shit comes on, followed by the annoying as-Hell, commercials that I use satellite radio to get away from.

I also noticed the absence of 87.9 and other low channels on my recent receiver that are no longer available.
My old receiver kicked ass, but that thing's been long, gone since I lost it in the crash.

Now my only other option is to switch out the stereo in the truck to one that has a "line-in" jack.
That way, I could just directly wire the receiver into that, and listen to it like an IPod, cd player, etc.,

Already got one of those, but how do you think I hear new music, or for that matter, any of the electro-groups that are well-known to most of the ridazz?
I guess you could say I burns lotsa money when it comes to fancy forms of personal entertainment.

There's not enough double bass in electro for RBI.

C'mon now, I'm a man of all genre's.
I just tend to "get-down" better to the music that has the "boom"!!!

As for the situation at hand, I'm going to see about finding a cheap-ass, CD Player with a line-in jack.

When I'm ready to switch over to another outfit, I just yank my radio out, and put the original back in.
