I'm a bicycle commuter, first and foremost. I started riding to work about a year ago. Once week, twice a week and slowly increasing from there. Well it's been an awesome year and now I commute 5 days a week while my car rots behind my apartment.
So somewhere in the course of immersing myself in all things bicycle, I have gotten the bug to ride longer and faster. Apparently 20 miles a day isn't enough for me. So when I'm not commuting, I've started donning the obligitaory uniform of spandex glory, and getting in touch with my inner roadie as much as possible.
I like riding alone, but it's fun to do group rides too, and while I know there's already "The Hustle," "Bicykillers", "The Montrose Ride" and full on roadie club rides, I'm thinking about trying to start up something new. I want it to be relatively fast paced, but not at "hammer till you die" levels (at least not yet). I know rides like Wolfpack have evolved to that level, and I intend on joing up with them as much as possible as I get more fit, but I'd like to get group of riders together that is still working their way up.
And I want it to be based in the Hollywood area as well. Once a week to start. Weeknight or weekend, not sure.
Maybe this could start as a ride, and then evolve into something more? A club? A team? Who knows.
So...any takers?

I'd definitely be into it. I have limited time for that kind of riding, so rides that start and end in hollywood really make things a lot easier to me. Wolfpack is a bad night for me, as I've always got work to catch up on after taking it easier over the weekend, so cubcamp is my only high speed ride that is weekly and getting to it on the westside is a pain in the neck sometimes. I'd probably do something on Tuesdays fairly regularly (alternating with occasional tren way rides, I suppose), and there are definitely not enough Sunday rides. I'm often in the mood for a ride on Sunday evenings. Rides that end by 11 or midnight would also be good, as I still have work to do every evening.

I would be down for a thursday night spin. I've been wanting something local that is fast and cant always get out to BICIKILLERS

Thursdays is cubcamp. I'm going to be making a habit of heading there, roadblock, and can give a ride if you'd like.

OK, sound like a couple of you are game. I'll shoot for next Thursday the 26th. for the first installment. I'll hash out a route and start location and post here in the next couple of days. Any input / suggestions are appreciated. And smart ass remarks are, I suppose inevitable.

Actually...
I was looking at your post ideasculptor, and I think Tuesday night would be better for me too. And I'd like to get started earlier in the evening too. Say around 8:00pm.
