I ride a bike that far too big for my height. Doesn't seem to bother me. Just have to be careful putting your feet down.

Matt... you must have hit your head last time you fell off wildflower... it's too small, not too big... big means things are too large.. wildflower is maybe a size or two too small.... you should go to the shop the get yourself professionally measured, see what they say...

I'm 6'0", long legs, short arms. I comfortably ride a 58cm. I was 5'8" when I was 14, and 5'11" when I turned 15. So I dunno - you grow a bunch like I did and you'll be set . . . if you don't then the bike is a little on the big side. I used to ride a 60cm . . . it's feasible.

57"?!? you do know that's 4ft9in?

Ummm.....if he's 5'9" and that's supposed to read 57cm, then the frame should be a good fit. Y'all are weird.

Assuming you grow 3 more inches in the next couple years that frame will become too small for you and, depending on your physiology (long or short limbs), you'll need a 59cm - 60cm

I once rode an old Cannondale SM700 that had 20"inch, BB to top of seat-tube measurement.
Considering my average height, that bike worked out quite well for awhile there.
But, after awhile, I was beginning to feel psychologically out of proportion.

5'9 at 14 means you've either got some room to grow, or you might've hit the end of the road in that department.
I remember from 12-13, I shot up from 4'11 to 5'8 and stopped right there.

Inseam and reach determine fit, not height.

@kyber

-Since when does anyone pay attention to the inseam on their pants anymore??
Everywhere I go, everyone's either sagging, or high-waterin' it.

That's a different inseam!

But I agree. Damn ill fitting pants.

Wow. This thread has some of the worst advice I've ever read on this site. Keep up the good work, fellas.

Correct answer to OP: maybe.

Hope that helps.

-Since when does any thread take itself seriously?
We're just an underrated sitcom with a cold-opening for each episode.

pfffffff

You don't get no seat up on high for a non-answer like 'maybe'.

Apparently when someone declares that it contains shitty advice.
nyuk nyuk nyuk.

Please note that my answer of "maybe", while true, is the most useless and uninformative of all possible answers. I'm getting you fellas ready for the flash flood of bullshit that will be this presidential campaign. Swift bike veterans for truth. Dot org.

@ user "Eric Hair" -

If he buys this bicycle, he will be needing a seat down on low! Ha, ha, ha!

I think the bike is the right size, but no, YOU are the wrong size, I am afraid. You'll understand this as you get older.
