anyone know where i can get a bike repainted (preferably good quality) in la?

can i take the bike as a hole there or would i have to disassemble it first

duh you have to disassemble it first. they are a paint shop, not a bike shop.

+1 for olympic powdercoat. did an awesome job on my bike. They do lots of bikes, so they know what they're doing.
taking the bike apart is not so bad. the only thing though, you'll need to cut the powdercoat off the BB shell, head tube, and crown race seat. Does kitchen have those tools? I had my friend from Orange20 do it.

is it true that orange 20 can take your frame down to olympic for you and you pay orange 20 for the fees?

I had Olympic coat my latest frame and I'm very stisfied. In my case at least, they were careful about not getting powder in any of the threads - absolutely no cleanup needed.

As for orange 20, they have done that before, it might take forever though.
They definitely masked my bike well, nothing on the threads, but if they'd masked it so there was nothing to cut off the BB face, headtube, etc. it wouldn't have looked as good. Some BBs don't touch the face of the shell, but headtube and crown race seat should definitely need facing

About $92 for my frame only, not too much more for frame & fork. Prices also vary somewhat with different colors.

Here a non technical answer, facing is making a metal surface flat. When you powercoat or paint, you need to take the paint off the top and bottom of headset; the part where the headset will seat. You might have to do this for the bottom bracket (BB) too.
Also, you will have to chase the bottom bracket threads. Chasing is removing excess paint from the threads. You can use a Dremel tool with wire brush attachment.
All you are doing is removing paint from surfaces where you need exact clearance. Using a powdercoater with bicycle experience, like Olympic, will make this process easier. They mask the BB, the headset and the brake holes.
