rent a bike in LA?

hey there, i'd like to find out where i could rent a bike this friday for a friend who i'm trying to convert to the bike religion...i live in echo park and wouldn't want to go all the way to the beach to get one thanks

I rented a road bike from these guys on Hollywood Blvd to do the 70 mile LA River Ride:

They weren't what I'd call cheap, but they had good high quality bikes that were practically brand new.

$20 bucks says you could prolly find a decent bike at Goodwill for $30.

Shoot, I've got an old schwinn varsity with cruiser bars (not ape hangers), single speed, 39x17 gears (easy pedaling), 56cm, 31in standover height, that I rode on the last Ride-Arc and CruzzWithUs rides. I was going to put it up on Craigslist for 50 bucks but I could be persuaded to let it go for thirty to a good cause.
If you just need a bike for the friday nite ride or the weekend, let me know, you can borrow it, I've got another. I'm in the west valley but I suppose I could haul it over to to the silver/echo before then.
