Best route Whittier<->DTLA?

Whats the best route from Whittier to/from DTLA? Whittier Blvd/6th street?

 I meant to say, I've only ridden Whittier and 1st street on the suggested routes on the left.

 Beverly is a little tight on shoulder space through Montebello, but it opens up after that. You can also drop down to Olympic from Beverly where it starts in Montebello.

 I haven't had a problem taking Whittier but I tend to meander and don't like taking the same street for too long unless i am in a hurry. The side streets between Whittier and Olympic are wide and well paved, just be careful at the stops; a lot of them are not all-way stops and most of the time cross traffic does not stop (but they're not busy streets so you wont get stuck there for long. Keep in mind I haven't done this too often or during the week, so i am not sure what traffic will be like during your ride).
