that was interesting and pretty scary. it took a power tool to get attention. as far as we know, a bike thief won't use a power tool as it IS too noisy and cumbersome. An easy way to deter a thief is get rid of your quick releases on your bike, invest in locking bolts and don't use a hardware store chain & Lock, use a "U-Lock" or an industrial bike cable, something designed to lock and secure your bike. I worked private security and had to remove a bike locked to a railing for a week and i had to use a power grinder. it was a U-Lock and took me Forty-Five minutes to get through. After work i went to my local shop and bought that same U-Lock that i had trouble cutting through.
