Anthropology& MR

I was really wonder after i took my cultural anthropology class. Are there any anthropologist documenting MR? Has there been any attempt to delve into all that is MR. Is this site the best documentation of what's happening in LA. Is this the closest that anyone will have?

THIS SITE IS NOWHERE NEAR THE BEST DOCUMENTATION.
the best are in peoples' hardrives. the ones that haven't been posting or riding
there were a lot of chill ass folk before MR got bigger. *mainstream* if you will.
They too had cameras. What i'm trying to say is that, in order to most accurately depict what MR was/is/will be is simply by a collaborative effort to do so. every individual that partook in a ride has their own perspective that can enhance the impact of what MR has become & really bring home the impact to culture in Los Angeles.

I heard royal academy was working on a collection of stories or something?
I've been wanting to put together a photo book of LA + westcoast bike culture for a while, but having had the time

I was -- and hope to resume again. Alas, I've just been so busy the last few months that it has unfortunately been on the back burner.
This will get done eventually though!

I should note that my angle is not anthropological per se (handle notwithstanding, I don't have that kind of academic background), but rather more along the lines of an oral history.
Shit, I really need to get back on this.

Hi Royal Academy,
I am a cultural anthropology major at UCSC and I'd like to share my 2 cents. The oral history you described is referred to as an ethnography by anthropologists. So you definitely have the tools: the history part, your vision/perspective and the pictures to form your arguments and observations.
