A girl just got doored at Sunset and Wilcox! She looks OK, and LAPD and LAFD were on site...

Please be careful out there!!!

Drivers are oblivious!

 Are they still there? Make sure she knows its the drivers fault, to get the drivers info and a lawyer.

 I got doored twice in 2006. First time rung my bell but no damage. The second time it I was banged up and my bike was totaled. I filed an insurance claim and got everything taken care of. I share this because make sure you or the rider file a claim just like a regular collision (I don't like calling them accidents because it negates responsibility). I didn't even know I could but some bystanders told me to call the cops and everything. A cop told me that if the driver opens their door like that without looking they are at fault and the insurance company agreed. After those experiences I always try to stay out of the door zone and look listen for the clues that someone might door me. That's another reason not to ride with headphones. You can't hear a door latch click with LCD Soundsystem in your ears.

 jeez that's horrible! i saw a girl get doored on culver city just last week, serious motivation to keep wearing the helmet and watch out for the door zone =(
