This is for all you part-time cagers out there that pay for car insurance.
I'm shopping for a policy right now with progressive and I noticed that the $86 a year that we would be paying for $5,000 medical coverage also covers us a pedestrians.
So I called them up and confirmed, and YES, it also covers us as cyclists!

Since there is about a 20% chance that an fault driver will leave the scene of a bike crash, and I'm freballin' it without health insurance, it's nice to know that at least basic medical will be covered, if some jackass takes me down and leaves the scene.

 Call your agent. I highly recommend State Farm. They take the time to explain everything in detail, whether or not you purchase a policy with them (don't tell them that's not your intion). If you're already a client, all this info is free of charge. Just make some time to speak to your agent and ask away.
