Indirect Route?

How many ride planners use an indirect route and a destination to help the faster and slower riders regroup more easily?

We've done that on the fmly eastside ride. It's especially easy to do downtown.

i've been thinking how some of the trenway MR rides (dada/ discordian) had lots of loops,so people who were lost or behind would have a better chance of catching up

It's a really good way to keep rolling without dropping people. Why should a large group of eager riders slow down or stop for a few stragglers unless absolutely necessary?
