 After he asked if we were italians, we talked a little more, then a group of young latino kids walked up and he got super quiet and chilled out. He kept noticing that I was holding my phone in this weird way and probably caught on that I was recording him. He asked us where we were going and we mumbled and then walked to Walgreens. When I looked back before he was out of eyesight, he was sitting against the wall, deep in thought, completely quiet...waiting for the bus. He just really wanted someone to talk to. Everyone was ignoring him.
