Long Beach sharrows in LA Times

The LA Times has an article about sharrows in Long Beach today and they post a graphic that shows "Car only lanes".

WTF? The graphic artist didn't read the article that says; "the green strip better articulates the existing law, which allows bikes to travel with vehicular traffic. We haven't given cyclists any more privileges than before the green stripe, we've just made it more obvious."

 It says the source is the LB Dept of Public Works, but it doesn't say whether that was the source of the information, or the source of the actual graphic.

Either way, someone took it upon themselves to designate those car-only lanes. I'm sure tons of motorists and reading this and loving it.

 "Car Only Lanes" rule. With your Punk youth movement this sets up nicely to rebel against the establishment and ride your bike in said "car only lanes".

 The important part is that LBC is more bike friendly. I love here and it is! But is you stray further up to say Bellflower or Paramount, it sucks. Motorists look at you like you're crazy for riding a bike in the street.
