You will probably need a new fork, headest, stem and spacers.

There is essentially no benefit to doing this.

Going to threadless forks was done to save the manufacturers money, as they didn't have to size each fork to the appropriate frame size, and could ship the same fork with each bike to be cut by the shop / owner.

threadless stems are stiffer. if it was a money sving thing then walmart bikes would still have quills. but they dont.

I seem to have been mistaken.

Is the benefit of the added stiffness worth replacing the fork, headset and stem?

Well, no matter what people say, you end up doing what you want. I just switched from threadless to threaded and it's such a pain in the ass I've been bikeless for a couple of weeks.

You're going to need a new headset, a new threadless fork, and a new stem w/ spacers, etc. You install the new headset, put in the fork, add the spacers, and close it up with the stem. It's obviously not as easy as I put it, but yeah... or you can get the adapter Junu was talking about.
