Seattle and the entire Pacific Northwest in general is a worthwhile and fulfilling place to be regardless of what those mental health nuts say about the cloudy weather.
Can't wait to go back up that way one of these coming days.

Come to think of it, the stereotypical hipsters you mentioned were almost nowhere to be seen when I was last up there in '07.
