I AM CLEANING UP A OLD ITALVEGA NUOVO SPORT ROAD BIKE.
I WANNA CHANGE THE CRANK AND BOTTOM BRACKET TO SOMETHING BETTER.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

THE BIKE IS ITALIAN, BUT DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT SWAPPING PARTS OUT.

BOTTOM BRACKETS (SIZE, ENGLISH, LENGTH, ETC)

OR CRANKSETS.

 Dude, if you have no idea WTF you're doing, what's on there now, what bottom bracket you need, etc., etc., etc., how do you know you need something better?

How would you even know how to define better?

You probably just need to take the cranks off, remove and clean out the bottom bracket, regrease everything (replace/repack the bearings if needed), and reassemble it.

Take it in to one of the bike co-ops (bike oven, bikerowave, bike kitchen) one day when you've got an afternoon to kill, and they'll help you sort it out and steer you in the right direction.

Just repack the bearings, I doubt you will notice the difference.
