get some oral gel for now, you should call the saban clinic or UCLA school of dentistry, tell them your homeless or VERY VERY broke, they have to believe you. @ the very least go and talk to them show them that your filling fell out.
sneaker use to work at UCLA they said if its an emergency they will preform work, i think your situation is considered an emergency b/c you're very likely to kill that root if its exposed.

I have the exact same prob right now Juno.. It fell out in July but they've been telling me I need a root canal. I say bullshit.
