Be realistic with your friend too.
18 miles is average length of a 2nd Friday ride.
15 miles from North Hollywood to Lincoln Heights.
Tell that to your friend and see if he/she would be better off taking the train to Union Station instead.

It should be a nice pace - not too fast not too slow - but then again you always have the jackalopes trying to lead the ride who get carried away and sometimes get the rest of the ride to follow at 18mph. I doubt that will happen tonight... beach cruiser I think would be fine.

The people meeting at the NoHo Redline station are actually planning on RIDING down to the ride. I believe they're taking Victory to the Griffith Park Bike Path, down los feliz to Main.
Guy on the beach cruiser: you might want to take the red line train all the way down to union station (last exit) and then take either Cesar Chavez to Mission road or Main st to Mission.

heh. I plan on keeping the pace somewhat decent, seeing as I'll be mostly off my bike for the next two weeks.
We'll see how that works out- can't wait to meet up with all you ladies!
