if you have a flipflop hub that's fixed on both sides, could you just replace one of the fixed cogs to make it a fixed/free? or does it remain fixed permanently?
someone is trying to sell me a fixed/fixed wheel, and i want to make it fixed/free.
i've never dealt with flipflops.

i have a flip flop that it threaded for fixed/fixed and i put a freewheel on one side and ive never had any problems with it- there is just less thread for the freewheel to grab .yes you can do it.

nice use of the ***s to make your post stand out
im not a fixed gear rider, but i can't think of any bike manufacturer that would put two different types of thread on a bike part that is flippable. there is no consistency with such things like drive side or non drive side. and would generally make servicing confusing and retarted.

Yeah the lockring threads are smaller in diameter than the cog theads... so a freewheel can go on there no problem.
I've done it before and it works just fine.

yeah, but the guy says it's a fixed/fixed,
and that i can replace one fixed cog to a freewheel,
and have a fixed/free instead. i just want to know if it's possible to convert.
